Vista is officially pissing me off to the point of downgrading. How do i do that? just buy XP disc shiza and install it?

Thats more like upgrading man seeing how vista is in alhpa beta testing w/e state you want to call it... Nothing but nasty bugs.
As for converting to XP, I suggest you store your precious files on a CD or 2nd HD and put the XP disc in and be sure to go to the BIOS in the CMOS options and select boot from CD first.
When you boot up from CD, just reformat your HD and reinstall XP. It may also be a wise idea to find all your drivers for XP ahead of time before you switch from vista to XP so you don't get into any hassels. Goodluck. -

Sorry, but XP was the bloated pile of **** back in 2000-whatever and prior to that, Windows ME.

Quite simple. Defragment your PC (do a boot-time one if possible), then in Vista, press Start/Windows+R on the keyboard and type in "diskmgmt.msc". In there, shrink the probably single large partition down to say, 60GB (depends on your hard disk space, really) and create a new partition or 2 (as in one for XP, one for your data). Next, reboot with an XP cd (back up your data if needed), install to the given partition. Then reboot with the Vista disk, select Repair mode and allow it to automatically repair the boot sequence. You then set XP to the default OS and it's simple as that - a dual-boot configuration. I prefere GRUB though.
If you want to go straight to XP (which may cause problems on OEM PCs, i.e. if Vista came with your PC), then create a second partition, move all your important data to it, and install straight from the XP cd. What System said, really.Comment

bad question but wat was wrong with windows ME? I had it for like a year and i didnt have any problems. in fact, my old comp use to run CS1.6 really well (P3 400Mhz 256mb ram Riva TNT video card) but after upgrading to XP, CS 1.6 stopped running smoothly

@System, you aren't supposed to dis teh productz....
xp works just fine for most everybody. if you have gigs upon gigs upon gigs of ram, or if you don't understand basic pc security, then vista is the wave of teh footures.

Well today XP is better than vista. I think this has been said a few times too many. Yes one day, when vista gets SP1 and perhaps more, it should be good so that we can all hop on over and enjoy DX10 graphics at the cost of needing 4gb of ram and a 8xxx+ card.Comment
