Why wont my mic work!!!

I dont have a sound card an i use soundmax software, My mic works on all other games, windows ect, but no no no not with bf2, i can use it for mabey 2-3 mins an my mic comes up all red an broken although people tell me its fine, Then it cuts off and i cant even hear anybody else talk.
so frustrating... It wont regester that i have a mic on the bf mic test. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Uhh...its dice bud. BF2 uses an advanced codec, and post your specs please.

thanks anyway i hope someone can help.
Advanced codec? elaborate... I presume i install this codec when installing bf. So i guess mabey my 3rd party sound driver is the problem?

Yeah, 3rd party Eh? Well, atleast try to use the SoundMAX drivers...did you check to see if the speaker's/headphone's are fully plugged in? Dumb question but hey, its happened to me before

I also think the problem lies within your BF2 settings, try messing with the sound settings a bit, make sure X-fi is not turned on.

mine works fine... although every time I click "join game" and a server starts loading... its automatically turns itself off... I havta alt+tab out, click the toobar sound board and click "mic on" button then go back into BF2... very annoying

and YES... every things plugged in and it must be BF2 settings cos it works fine with EVERYTHING until i load a server? weird
