im running at 1680x1050 all high 2xaa..my spec r pent 4 3.0 ghz 2gb ram, 8600gts 256mb 250gb hd...ok heres what u can do with ur budget..u can get 8600gts for now and do a step up program by evga and swith it with 8800 series card..i just got this card yesterday and its abit slow on my system...even when i put my settings at medium fps didnt improved. by the way im running xp pro..i got windows vista but i dont know how to install it :P

The original rig will run all high 4xAA(probly 8xAA) 8xAF 1280x1024

Really? Thats my resolution and I found it created a lot of lag all of a sudden in a little bit of action.. Or maybe it was my satelite connection... hmmm O.o

What does AA do anyways?

Camperstrike, you just linked to the 8600GTS. I believe you meant the 8800GTS in your earlier post.

The problem is that the CPU that is already picked out will bottleneck this video card.

Odd, it said 8800GTS when I clicked on it. Maybe I'm going blind...

If i buy everything as the original build, but get the better CPU, should I have any problems with lag and such?

no, it should run ok @ all high settings...so go for it! hey make sure when u buy graphics card, get the evga brand, bcos they got this step up progam..u can switch ur old graphics card to a new one within 90 days...take some pics when u build it..and also i might build same specs like urs soon so keep me posted.

bcause i think the reason y im getting low fps is bcause of my system bottlenecking my graphics card...pent 4 3.0ghz isnt really designd for this card..it recommends core 2 duo..so since ur getting core 2 duo i assume u wont have as much problem with this card like i do..if ur really on a budget then try 8600gts..but if u can save and add more money then i suggest u go for 8800gts...8800gts 320mb shout b enough.
