A) There all powered so you dont have to worry about usb compatibly.
B) Will be cheaper.
c) Will be neater
D) Will be quicker
Secondly you can buy something like my mobo came with. With my mobo i got a card which goes in the back slots where the PCI sits. but itll plug into a internal USB header so it wont hog a PCI slot and will use the same USB controller.

could you elaborate on that last part? sounds interesting...
This is what came with my motherboard. It gives me 4 extra USB ports but sadly take 2 USB headers up on the motherboard so i havnt used it as my case takes them up. Brilliant idea by evga thoe.
ive been building PC's since i was 11, and my Dad's been doing it longer than me by far and i've got three boxes full of crap like this that Mobo manufacturers calim to invent
1) Powered - less drain on your Power Supply (some gaming mice like the copperhead need 200mA, so a powered hub is great for them)
2) 7 extra ports - only takes one slot on back of PC
3) Keeps things organized with nothing out front of PC
4) Fairly Cheap
