the 8800gts will kill the 7950 gt so if your wanting more graphic power go with the gts.

nice, well the obvious answer would be the 8800gts,and you might look into the cheaper 320 meg version which is cheaper and support 2560 by 1600 i think .

would the 320mb out perform the 7950 and perform just as good at the 640mb? or is just a bragging rights type deal haha I got the 8800GTX because I got it in a combo deal and it was like 120 bux cheaper the the normal price

            EDIT

I just noticed the 8800gts says Operating Systems Supported Windows XP/MCE
I like to run x64 windows could this be a problem?

if i remeber rightly you would only need the 640 mb version on resolutions on a 23 inch monitor or above

yes im pretty sure it would run on 64 bit xp but dont go on my word for that, but i dont see why ti wouldnt, says it supports xp.

Dude just keep RMAing the 8800GTX till you get one that works. 40% of extra performance, might not need it now, but I believe Alan Wake will be making that card cry for mercy.

                        GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB vs. GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB

                        http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...00gts-640.html

mostly equal at 1280x1024 except for Gothic 3, Neverwinter Nights 2, and Company of Heroes. Future games may benefit from the greater ram though. Right now...those 3(I'm sure there are others, not tested).

If anything, I'd get the 640MB just because you could set up a 320MB ramdisk (quite complex thing to do though).

Guess most people won't be doing that.
