Tropic Thunder is one of the most underappreciated movies ever.

Also, look at these new kids in the BF and CoD section trying to tell me MW2 us better than CoD4. Thats like saying driving a jeep on a racetrack is better than driving a Ferrari over the same surface.

I think that better describes MW2.

Its good for you all. New ideas and ways of looking at a situation. Back in my day, I remember when CoD4 came out and everyone did call it crap because it wasnt like CoD:UO. Some of YOU have said that even. There are some plusses to MW2 over CoD4 and to ignore that fact just shows the 'elitism" some pretend to not have.

CoD4 wasn't meant to be like UO.

I've never liked regenerating health or only being able to hold two weapons. I still don't, but nobody seems to like health bars or a logical weapon system anymore. I also have never liked lunging and one hit melee kills outside of Halo. Because in Halo, you'd be carrying a huge bright sword that was very noticable and you couldn't fire any weapon with it equipped. People would also target you a lot more than the guy with just a battle rifle because everyone wanted the sword. Whereas in everything else, anybody can just pull a knife out of their ass and lunge 5 or so feet and get an insta-kill.

Any of that in any game, I don't like.

                Re: The "Random Thoughts" Thread

Cap'n Crunch makes a good point. Everyone tends to view the past through rose colored glasses. After reading that conversation with Kyle and that other guy I thought I'd have a go at CoD4 again since I hadn't played it in over a year. I didn't really feel like I was missing much nor that it was much of a difference in comparison to the few times I've played MW2 or Black Ops. Of course, I didn't think they were necessarily a noticeable improvement either, just that one was entirely different from the other when you actually are just sitting down and playing the game.

I've always noticed the same thing with the BF games. Nothing is ever as good as BF2 it seems. :p

Anyway, I think there's definitely something to be said for a bit of compromise. You don't have to be a traitor to your favorite game to admit that another game is OK. I should add that I'm not directing this personally at anyone, just a general observation (That guy you're arguing with is pretty weird, Kyle).

This. It took me a while to actually grow to like it after I first saw it, but in retrospect it's awesome. I think I probably should rewatch it again pretty soon.

I never played UO or the other one, but I probably would have liked them better than CoD4. I just feel like CoD4 is the last big PC game, as it was the last game suitable for decent competition in the FPS genre.

And yea thats exactly how I felt about TT haha.

Yep. Every game has its plusses and minuses. There are fanboys at many different levels. I myself like to think that I am a gamer and dont have loyalty to any one game, series, or team. If I think a game is good, thats what I play. I'll even play kits or weapons people cant stand, if I like them.
