This same girl thinks that all the covers of Beatles songs done in Across the Universe (which I refuse to watch on principal) are better than the originals! WTF! :|:

How could any song that Bono sings ever be better than one by the Beatles, let alone I am the Walrus?

Also, that analogy's actually fail- if you like something, you are going to say you like it, not what you don't like as much (!fanboy rule- unless you are a fanboy/girl). Also, chocolate chip waffles can taste turbl at times, because they try mixing too many things together, so you can't eat them the same way as plain waffles.

My sister bought the ATU soundtrack and I tried listening to some- just not as good as the originals, mainly due to vocals, in my opinion. Also, the instrumental parts were overly flashy at times and added unnecessary things to the original.

That's not to say a cover can't be better than the original- for example, Tear for Fear's Madworld and the Donnie Darko Gary Jule's cover. I personally think the original sounds like crap, but the cover's very well-done.

Random thought: I've been playing GTA 4 and man, I really hate like 50 percent of this game. However, the other half's so epic that I still want to play. I feel like a chauffeur or a butler or something menial and degrading half of the time and the rest I'm a bad-as$ assassin. :/ This game could have been so much better if it just incorporated the second part.

I totally agree with you. I tried listening to a few, the vocals just don't compare and often don't fit well with the style of the peace. In addition, how they arranged some of the music in the pieces is just horrendous.

The Blues Brothers are one of my favorite bands and all they played were covers of old blues, soul, etc treasure, but all of them were expertly done and sound as good or better than the originals.
