Unfortunately, not as good as Season 1.

There's was just too much Endless Eight. Still it was a great season, the Sigh and Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody episodes were really enjoyable.

Another mostly random thought:

You can sing cadences and recite mantras all day long. Actually killing isn't really something you can "train" for. Why do you think people come up with so many slurs against any country they fight? It helps with killing them if you think of them as something less than human.
Their religion? Heathens and heretics.
Savages. Uneducated. Animals.

Of course, their side says the same crap. Who wins? Who's left when the young men are finished fighting and dying and killing?

It's interesting to note how the ancient Greeks and Romans did the exact opposite (except sometimes with the Persians and Athenians, haha). They usually made their opponents out to be as tough, fierce, and savage as possible. That way their victory meant more. Interesting how some things don't stay the same, huh?

You're completely wrong about the dehumanizing thing. You're entirely missing my point (or perhaps just misunderstanding my word choice) and this isn't something you can bullsh!t with a long response. Ask any classical philologist at any university or just read it in a text book. This is especially true of Athens (excepting Persians of course, but I pointed out that sometimes they did dehumanize their opponents in my first post). In the Peloponnesian War Athenians didn't dehumanize Lacedaemonians or their allies. They just didn't.

Or consider mythic Amazons whom Athenians loved to portray in their art from drinking cups to even on metopes on the Acropolis. The Amazons existed only in Athenian myths, but they played a prominent role in how Athenians (especially in the 5th and 6th centuries) viewed their history. Amazons were big, strong, and an even match for an Athenian warrior. If you study how Amazon culture is depicted, it's essentially the opposite of an Athenian one, for Athens was socio-politically male dominated and Amazons, as everyone knows, excluded men from their culture entirely except for reproduction.


edit: I feel like you're just arguing with me because you can though. I was just posting and interesting fact in response to someone and you had to disagree with it as though it's my personal opinion, not something that I've studied at my uni.
