anyone knows some kind of software that will allow me to "install" dvds into my hard drive and then be able to play them without the dvd?

I assume you mean game DVDs? I use Alcohol 120% to create an image, then use Daemon Tools to mount it. This works for nearly all of my games, but for CoD:WAW it kept telling me to insert the disc (so I used a crack instead :p). Here's a guide; it's a bit old but should still work.

What's with the camera effect they have in Top Gear where the corners of the screen are darke, god I hate it, it looks retarded on my TV.

Camera filters they put over the lens I would assume, when they're feeling all arty.
