Thats partly what factored into my decission. I had to read over AMD's annual report as a part of a business project and they are hurting bad. There is coutless instances of Intel appearing in their report because their such a threat. Their agressive pricing, superior marketing and resource advantage is what is killing AMD. Not that I don't like AMD or that I think they are going anywhere, I just think Intel is safer and the Core 2 line is the best on the market for now.

However the motherboard is twice as much as I was looking to spend. The one I picked out is about $150
(those new quads look awesome)
