great. go through their tech support and ebay the new (hopefully) replacement to recoup a little of your loss.

and i know that the nvidia 8800 is to much for the psu and the sound card

not necessarily. amps*volts=watts that can be supplied by each rail. if you've got...say, 16 and 18 amps along dual 12v rails, you're pushing more than enough power. it may be a faulty PSU rather than an underpowered one. however,

and do you guys know whats causing the flickering of the blue lights in the chassis? this is when my fan starts loosin speed.

the machine is not getting enough power, either due to a faulty psu or insufficient power. you're experiencing a brown-out in the color blue.

hmmm...one more possibility is that your power strip/surge suppressor may be on the fritz and isn't delivering stable current, but that's an outside shot.

thanks for the wonderful help megawhomper, ur saving my 4000 dollor computer

also, when i game, i crank the psu fan all the way to max to let air travel more, it gets really noisy then the lights start flickering, should i crank it?

either the psu really is underpowered or at high speeds the fan MIGHT be "wobbling" something electrical. if it was me, i'd still "rent" a new psu and confirm whether or not that solves the problem. if it does, then you have justification for making thermaltake send you a new one. as far as turning the fan up, i would turn it up until you are satisfied that the case/component temps will remain in a safe operating range. the fan runs off the 12v rail(s) which is what also feeds the cpu and psu. can you set the fan to automatically adjust based on the temperature of the psu?

Your PSU is dieing. I'm 100% sure of it. It may be that your PSU is faulty, or it may just be a combination of things (too much stress on the PSU, etc).

maybe because its only 500 watts and everything needs more? like 550 etc etc. maybe because i cranked the fan only the PSU up to much!??!?!?!?!?

yes, at low speed the fan does tend to wobble.

It's not because of you turning up the fan.

And for the record, several of my fans wobble and I've had no problems with them.

rule: if you buy a $1000 machine dont skimp on a PSU.

Id do what they state above as an 8800Gtx will kill your machine soon if your PSU cant cope!

Doesn't matter. Any 8800 series card is power hungry.
