For Christmas, I want a new processor and video card. I have pretty much decided on a video card but for the processor I'm not sure. Right now I have a celeron D and my mobo can support celeron d's, Pentium 4's and Pentium d's. My celeron isnt that great it has something like 32kb L1 cache and 256 L2 and it slows down a lot with a lot of programs running.
Sooo...
The only dual core I can buy without buying a new mobo (which I wouldn't have enough money to do) would be a pentium d. They dont look that bad to me and I don't really need it to be the fastest computer ever but I would like it to be a noticable increase in speed in everyday computing and gaming. So, what are your thought's on the pentium d? Should I buy one or should I ditch my mobo and buy a new one? I sort of want to keep my mobo though because it has ddr ram (what I have now) and it has pci e x16 which is good.
Comments please..
