I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo, and am very happy.

Cheap at 40 bucks, and has the features I need. It is even completely ambidextrous.

I used to have a cheap Saitek ST90, and it was all right, but not nearly enough buttons, and the digital throttle sucked.

I have a Logitech Extreme Pro 3D. Its a little stiff, but otherwise almost perfect. Key placement on hat is superb. The only real problem is that its a little too stiff and youll need to modify it a little. Ive replaced the default spring with a weaker one so the stick barely stays centered.

Actually, if you get a Panther XL you'll get the one joystick built for first person shooters. It's got a built-in trackball that replaces your mouse, so no need to switch from keyboard to stick when you leave the ground. I couldn't imagine playing with keyboard and mouse. It's very intuitive. There's one on Ebay as we speak http://cgi.ebay.com/MadCatz-Panther-...QQcmdZViewItem and if you snap that up, turn right around and forward it on to Steveo, who runs the Panther XL forums http://phpbb.stevehailer.com/ who'll mod it to USB connectors and upgrade the trackball with the Logitech MX series.

Samer here, i bought the Cyborg Evo by Saitek a little while ago and i was amazed. The difference between this stick and the Logitech one is like blike and white. There is no comparison, the Cyborg Evo is soo much better (expecially the force feed back one). The design is very confortable, with adjustable hand rest, ajustable keys, ect. The blue lights really help you when you are playing in the dar :).

i dont know which one you should get, i have the logitech extreme 3d pro. It never stays calibrated. everything is good about it except that it makes your plane/helo roll to the left or right a little bit. Don't get it unless your willing to calibrate, clean out ports, and learn how to use it properly. Im so used to my aircraft rolling to the right, i counter it by pulling it to the left without even noticing.

those of you wanting to learn how to clean out ports:

unscrew the 8 screws from the bottom around the edges, and the final one inbetween the 2 front screws. Pull the silver plastic cover up a bit (not too much, you don't want to tear the wiring now), and rip out the (not sure what its called exactly) rubber ring (you dont need it). Now get a q-tip and clean out the ports. (just shove your q-tip inside, and you'll feel little sockets). i Find it somewhat helps with the calibration issue.

Dude, no offence, but this is pathetic... That's why they invented the DEADZONE feat, you know Every joystick is seemingly uncalibrated (my saitek as well), and you need to do is make some deadzone changes, voila, problem solved.

Do you even own a joystick?
What we are talking about is related to settings, not the physical location of the stick. (Why can't I phrase those sentences correctly!! )
I mean if you leave the stick, it gets perfectly centered, no doubt about that.
The problem is, say if the stick is centered on 0, the computer recognizes it (each case to it's own numbers, say) as 5 milimiters right / left.
So what deadzone does, you can disable any response of the joystick within the 5 milimiters left / right. Sorry for my eng :)
