Indianscout that's a nice setup you've got there. 2 X1800XT's in Crossfire.

Mine's normally on 80/90 and in combat fights it's around 30 - 50

I get around 80 to 90 with everything maxed out. but if i do the video settings i like to play at. I get anywere from 130 to 305 FPS

and how does having 80 fps help when your eyes can only pick up 24 fps?

No your totally wrong

you eyes continually are picking up imformation and streams this back to the brain this means that the eyes arnt locked at any framerate

in a test people could tell the difference between 40 and 60 frames a second and some US pilots were able to tell differences up to 200fps

so overall more is better but you dont want <30 if you can for shooters

its also harader to game at lowerframerates because its picking up more blank imformation when the screen redraws resulting in less time to consider your options on what to do

That shouldn't change your performance, only allow the max your system can render to be above 100.

Before I got my Core 2 Duo, I was getting 20-50fps on most maps with my AMD 2.6ghz 3500+ with the same graphics card.

After getting the C2D it never goes below 80 (saw it hit 78 once) even when there is a choke point with 64 players and artillery strikes and smoke screens going off. I was in a match the other night before my motherboard died and my framerate on Karkand 8v8 never went below 200 with the framerate limiter removed.

That processor was a bigger improvement for gaming than going from my FX5600 256mb to my volt modded 7900GT was.
