    Joystick Recommendations [Jet / Heli]

Hi, I consider buying a joystick to fly jets and attack helis (mainly gunner seat). Any recommendations?
BTW, please don't list joysticks above 100-110$. Thanks

I don't use a joystick for flying a heli, i find it much more easier to manouver it with the moust while strafing with the keypad. As for the jet its great for it has a throttle wich lets you fly at a constant speed and tight turns.

The Logitech Force 3D Pro. You won't be dissapointed. They cost around $80. over here. Have a wireless one as well but the batteries don't go flat as you are taking off with the USB one.

Thanks, I see Logitech is a good choice.

            But what's the difference between Logitech® Extreme™ 3D Pro (29$) and the Logitech® Force™ 3D Pro (69$)? The only game with plane I play is BF2, so I don't need something professional.

main difference is just force feedback on the force 3d joystick, ie it rumbles when you get his or when you fire

no = keyboard is for twist = rudder = yaw
                  NOT strafe
you need a combination of bank and twist to get a strafe

for helo - set your throttle to 30% then use W/S for more/less power
and A/D for twist (rudder/yaw) and mouse for pitch/roll

                  for jet = joystick
we use Saitek st290pro $19US at Walmart

I use my cheap Saitek ST520 or w/e its called for the very limited time I spend in a jet, and kb/mouse ftw with the helo, which I have a fair amount of time in

For the moment the Extreme 3D Pro is my first choice. It's abit more expensive than 30$ (it's actually 50$ [cheapest] to 65$ [most expensive])

                      EDIT
                      Yay my 200th post :p

Can you give a reason why this one specifically? I'm buying tomorrow, 4 for the Logitech, 1 for Saitek st290pro but it's too expensive, 1 for Saitek ST520 and 1 for the Saitek X36 Flight Controller.

I would just add that you should make sure to get an analog sliding throttle.

I have the Saitek ST90 (it was cheap), and it has a 4 stage digital throttle. it is a PITA because you only have four settings, and none of them are really precise enough for what you want in BF2 (hovering, strafing, etc.).

I willl be looking at either the Logitech 3d pro, or the Saitek Cyborg Evo soon. I haven't decided if I'll spring for one of the Force Feedback Versions yet.
