yes, but your harddisk will get slow and overused.
If that would be the itch, u could play BF2 with 2 GB RAm adn 7600 Gt at the same framerate as when play BF2 +scan with 2 GB RAM and 7600GT

AMD dual core's can be recognised by the X2 in their naming.

amd64 3200 venice(single core) plays fine with my 6600gt and 2gb of ram.

im surprised that this many ppl had dual core...

i recently got dual core (its temproray cuz my dad wants to switch his comp (in my sig minus the video card) with my xeon comp to be a server...[long story] so he put in dual 1.5ghz

not much diff as i can tell

I bought a dual core 4200 when the prices dropped and it's still sitting in the box.

After doing more research I'm finding that the headaches brought about for SOME dual core users isn't worth the effort just yet. I don't do a lot of multi-tasking and this is primarily a gaming rig.

BF 2 is smooth as silk and I'm one of the first ones to load on each map. Think I'll just keep it boxed for now and wait for when more games are out which utilize the technology.

So for now I'm running a 3700+ single core.

I have a single core AMD4000 over clocked to 2.93 but i am thinking about buying the new Intel Duo core chip

For some reason my cpu doesn't like to go higher then 2.22ghz, I guess I should increase voltage because it won't go past the splash screen when I boot.

but im looking into upgrading to a newer chip around june. Maybe a quad core. :P
