    I second that, X-Fi & MedUSA 5.1 is a great sound.

I'm with this guy...software, HIGH, EAX ON sounds great using Realtek(mine isn't even HD)...hooked up to a Logitech z5500.

Sounds like an airshow to me too.

The speakers you guys use is more important than the sound device in my opinion. The best sound card will sound like crap if your speakers suck.

X-Fi is the way to go, plus u can pick one up for around $80 new. I got my X-Fi XtremeMusic for $60 Retail kit.

I just got an Audigy 2 zs and installed it last night. Hardware with high and EAX enabled. AN ENORMOUS difference over my nVidia soundstorm on my nforce4 mobo. All the guns sound spectacular and the jets flying overhead and other noises are intense. I just use a 2.0 creative speaker setup with a headhpone jack in the speaker with some cheap sony digital headphones from walmart, and I am impressed. I got it NIB from ebay for $40...I just couldn't see myself dropping all that scratch for an XFi.

So far I'm very impressed with the sound difference. Howerver, I was only able to play for about 10 minutes on Wake before having to get some shut eye. I don't know how a 3 or 4 hour session will sound on the ears...it's so good it might make me dizzy!

Ive used onboard , Audigy 2, x-fi extreame music, now x-fi fatality . And i have to say the x-fi was a big jump from the audigy 2 . I listen to music a few hours a day and i love the x-fi series. Only thing i have to say is the Extreame is a good card but the fatality is where its at . Seems what creative did is not fully impliment all the tweaks that the fatalty has . But if i was looking for a good soundcard for not that much get the extreame .

Oh btw Creative can suck crap and die for there crappy drivers that they update once a year lol

Not only will the XFI sound great but will it give a slight increase in performance? Since the CPU wont need to process the sounds.

Ive notices that when I put EAX on and sound to HIGH (i have RealTek) My fps drops below 10 when there is artillary and extreme heavy gunfights. If I put it at LOW i dont have this problem. This is my MAIN CONCERN. Am i going to spend all this money put my sound at HIGH and still have this crappy performance.

Audigy 2 ZS, unless your willing to put up with a head ack and a chance that it will never work right with your system. then get the X-Fi xtrememusic.

The Audigy 2 zs was just asimple plug and play installation, just the drives and it was an improvement over my Realtek AC97, even a little preformence boost. The X-fi card I got has been a pain in the HIND, great sound, touchy card. If your willing to put up with the risks the xtrememusic is one of the greatest sounding sound cards I've ever had, but the simplisity to to the Audigy 2 zs vs all the pain and suffering the X-Fi series has been to me, nod goes Audigy 2 zs (simply the greatest, hassel free, good sounding card).
