Ok people I started another thread about this but I am getting seriously confused - so I will put it simply.
Components I need:
-Mobo
-Processor
-PSU
-GPU (Geforce 7950?)
-RAM (2Gb)
-Sound Card
Think thats everything i need - please correct me if im wrong
-I want to build a PC from scratch.
-My budget is approx £1000, though I can probably stretch it to £1500.
-I am focusing only on what will be in the case - monitor/keyboard/mouse etc I can sort out later.
-I want a mobo that is SLI compatible, but I am not getting SLI just yet (I just want to keep my options open)
-I do not want to get "dead" technology such as an AGP mobo or socket 939
-I do not want anything to do with Intel or ATi - vive la nVidia & AMD (and no im not french!)
-Please if you recommend something or write it off, please explain why - this is kind of a learning curve for me so if you say "oh you should get an AM2 mobo" - please explain what it is and why I should get it?
-I am going to be using this computer primarly for gaming
-I intend to get a large (probably widescreen) LCD, please take that into consideration when recommending GPU's
-I am from the UK - just so you know
I think that that pretty much covers everything.
Sorry if I sound like a right ******* - but I am determined to learn - and everyone here has been really helpful but unfortunately every1 seems to forget that I am a right noob at this and go straight in at the deep end leaving me like "wtf"
lol
Thank-you for all your help.
