right now I am getting sum new upgrades on my pc which will consist of, sum are from my dad for my B-day

If I were you i'd really buy 2x1gb sticks of ram, a single 1gb stick just doesn't seem to cut it these days.

I already have 2x512 in my machine which makes a gig, so the extra gig of ram will make 2

You should be able to play with Medium settings just fine.

Just curious, but why would you get an AGP motherboard and video card?

If you're getting both, go for PCI-E instead.

ya, nobody ever said you had to have the same setting all across the board. im sure you can get away with a few higher settings here and there. my settings are a mix of high, med, and low in just the right places to keep my game looking decent and smooth running.

I will go PCI-E later on down the road, when they are still making AGP 8x slot cards for PC Gaming, I will still upgrade em until I go PCI-E whichw ill be next year summer time

Why are you buying an old Intel? AMD64's are significantly better, AM2 a little more, and Conroe even better still.

Why are you buying AGP? I read your answer, it makes NO SENSE AT ALL!!! What a complete and utter waste of money!!!

You realize PCI-e cards are cheaper, and you have more options? You realize next summer you will need ANOTHER new motherboard to support the PCI-e card you buy then too...of course then you will be buying new ram as well...or be stuck yet again with an UNupgradeable system/mobo.

What the hell are you thinking? The only people who buy AGP today, are people who already have an AGP mobo. Not people buying a whole comp from scratch like you are.

You asked what we think of your choices, well I think they are incredibly poorly chosen. You are leaving yourself ZERO upgrade ability...ZERO!

You actually need to scrap the entire idea of DDR1 while your at it. If you want Intel, get Conroe + DDR2. If you want AMD get AM2 + DDR2.

Both AM2 and Conroe are PCI-e as well...see where this is going? Your choices are obsolete before you even order them.

You can spend the exact same amount of money you have just come up with on this list...but get a significantly better computer that is actually upgradeable.

Don't be a fool, change the entire list.

p.s. I'd also leave out that sound card until after the system is built. You might actually like the onboard sound and can apply the saved money towards a better video card which will yeild infinately more performance than just better sound will for any game you play.

well right now the ram is still useable with the new mobo, graphics card can be used with it as well. The only thing I am buying is a HArddrive, mobo, cpu, and sound card, nothing more or less.

That is not what you said in your opening post. You said: CPU, mobo, ram, GPU, sound card.

I was under the impression(based on what YOU wrote), that you would be using your current HD, case, PSU, optical drives...since those are the only items not listed by you.

We can't help you if you can't even be clear with us on what you need. And as for spending your money how you like, why the hell did you ask us what we think about your choices if you were not prepared for someone to say they are bad choices?
