nvidia or ati work for bf2 but some older nvida and older ati dont.

to check right click on youre desktop go to properties,then settings then,advanced then,you should see a tab with youre gfx card name at the top right,mine says geforce 6600gt.

if you click the tab where it says the name of youre gfx card then it will tell you if its agp and how mutch memory it has.

Either that or a shorter way is to click "start", then "run", then type "dxdiag" and hit enter. It should show you everything you need. Although i get the impression that by you asking this question your machine is probably on the low level scale graphics wise.

50$? Ummm....a 6200? Maybe? I don't have a link on me...but nothing for 50$ will play Bf2 even remotely well. And a Radeon 9200 is a horrible card.

Hmm, what manufacturer and model is your computer? It may not have the required slots.

A 9200 certainly does not support games like BF2.

Also, get more money, a $50 card gets you nowhere.

First you have to check if you have and AGP graphics card. The "dxdiag" mlkmnz suggested should tell you.

On a $50 - &75 budget for an AGP graphics card you are looking at

radeon X700 $61.99

Both low end cards, they are not much of an upgrade.

No, sadly its not, its low end and 3 generations old. You might be able to load the game, but it will look and perform badly.

My suggestion if you really want to play BF2 is to bite the bullet and try and get a 2nd hand 6600GT off eBay.

fx series works fine with bf2, although ur settings might be low/medium but the game should be still enjoyable

so my computer restarts itself when i click on the game because of the graphics card right?? nothing else??? what if i get the graphics card and it still doesnt start the game??? well i think im gonna get a nvidia geforce 6800 that should run the game on everything on low right?

this doesnt make sense i found a nvidia geforce 6500 for 60$ and then a 5200 for only 5 bucks less take a look.
