Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Yea, I read that, but Anandtech's the only one reporting that, so I'm not sure if I entirely believe them. No point in releasing the X6800 before everything else.
Maybe from a demand standpoint they want to be sure the lower end models have more stock available before release. More people are going to want a low end model than an Extreme.
There is two reasons that i could think of to be logical to release X6800s first.
1. Everybody will be caught in the hype, and everybody will want conroe, and the X6800 is the only one out there, so many people will buy it, this will get Intel richer, as people are going for the expensive model.
Its true, GPU bottlenecks effectively null the advantage of a super-strong CPU. But anyone that argues while using that reason better not have a Opteron overclocked to 2.8Ghz...*hint hint*
if your talking about me, my Opty is only at 2.45 Ghz.
However, I can't speak about other Opteron owners.

He's talking about me. What I gather from the statement is that if I was going to use the arguement that Conroe wouldn't make a real world difference to us that have A64's, then why do I have my processor overclocked. Since overclocking my processor also probably makes no difference in gaming, and other applications. However I don't overclock to gain any performance, but I do it for fun.
Although I don't need a new system quite yet I'm fighting the urge to get a Conroe just to overclock it. If Conroe does nothing else, it overclocks like no other processor has.
What it really comes down to here is a video card. This just shows how important a video card is to your system, and that it would be wise to get the best bang for you buck possible when dealing with graphics.
We need MUCH MUCH faster videocards. It would only take a A64 3700+ to handle a 7900GTX.
If you go into 7900GTX SLI or X1900XTX Crossfire systems, then the GPU bottleneck is removed, and you can actually have fun with your Conroe at higher resolutions.
Indeed, Anandtech got a E6600 to 4.0Ghz on rather high air cooling.
Yea, that's even better than what the Pent. D 805 can do ( from 2.66-4.0). Anyways, can anyone see my posts? Cuz when i'm not logged in, i can't see my own posts.
