If you do end up buying on-line and you're in the UK, don't forget about the distance buying regulations. If you buy stuff you can, by law, tell them within 7 days that you want to return it and they have to accept it back.

This doesn't apply to all the countries.

I know this because global marketing is what i do. For i.e. Eritrea is not included to this. But i don't think he is going to buy his rig from any of the 3rd world countries anyways as a guideline, europe, middle-east, north america are included. not all countries from afrika, and some small areas inside russia.

My dad is the one who will install it, hes a computer programmer, but he doesn't know that much about PC's..and thats why I was put on this earth right here..

No offense here mate but a Programmer is not a PC Technician. I am a electronic Technician (and Linux Admin -.-) so i know what i am talking about. PC cards and other electronic can get damaged if you touch it while you are not properly grounded !! Its called ESD shock.

Dude...a CPU is NOT a card. A CPU is a err.......well... a CPU.
A Card is to put in a PCI Slots. A CPU is in a "Socket"

Yes..I do understand all of this, but my dad does know computers inside and out, but since its' my computer, he wants me to create the dam thing...I don't know what a 100+ dollar mobo will give you besides more slots...I only really need one. And for a 55 dollar price tag...that one mobo will give me a very, very fun time..thanks for the posts and info though.

Can someone recommend a good mobo? A good, and cheap one? I don't care if its low end, so long as it works, and contains at least one PCIe port.

Well i wouldnt recommend any noname parts even though I use some myself. A 100$ MoBo will have more features then a lower price Mobo like 2 NICs, Firewire, better Sound onboard, Graphics onboard, more USB slots and so on.
What u need to consider is what Chipset you want.
There are different Chipsets (Controlls RAM, PCI slots) Manufactors and I prefer Nvidia Chipsets for AMD CPUs. Nforce 4 Chipsets doing well without much trouble imho.

Aight...your answer just saved me ALOT of time. I've got an awesome Audigy 6.1 SoundCard, and I'm planning to buy a video card anyways to put onto the mobo. I don't need Firewire, as its mainly used for buisnesses. And the card's got 4 USB ports anyways. I also...am planning to get a Nvidia chipset.

Its cheap, but its also got a 5 star rating, with only some bad reviews, this mobo seems to give me the most bang for my buck.

Errr STOP thats a MICRO ATX Board. THAT baby wont fit in your standard ATX Case if I am not wrong here....
Plus it has a worthless Videocard onboard....something u defo do not need.

Well I would prefer the Abit Board because of the Nvidia Chipset. I once had a VIA Board and nothing but trouble ( freezes, Bluescreens ) with it. I will never ever touch a VIA Chipset again.
But its up to you...if you ask 10 ppl you get 10 oppinions ^_^
I prefer Nvidia Chipset for AMD CPUs and Nvidia GraphicsCards......some might call me Fanboy hehe

Your old AGP wont fit in the PCIe slot.

Edit: The Rig to play BF2 on all high with like 60 FPS under all conditions is prolly not build yet because of the "eccentric" engine hehehe
