SLI question

I recently bought this PSU: http://www.thermaltake.com/purepower...R2/w009394.htm and i was wondering if it would run SLI or not, and if not which PSU should i get?

Should be able to. You use one 6 pin connector for one of the cards and two normal HDD power connectors for the other card via a supplied converter cable.

Yes it is powerfull enough for sli (at least with two 7900s), you may need some splitters for the cables though

Only 14/15 amps on each 12v rail isn't enough for 7900's.

Thats a very poor choice of PSU in that price range. You should have at least got something like this:

If you want to run high end SLI you're gonna have to spend around $150 on a PSU.

Ah, I stand corrected, 7900s need a minimum of 22 amps

OK this has got me worried a bit now. I'm running two 7800's (all seems fine though).

I've got an EZCool 600W. Should I look at something better?

no you should be fine, this is a 500W im sure a 600W can handle 7800's

Cool. I should eb getting a better CPU and case soon, will probably look into something a bit hardcore to futureproof a bit more.

Although that brand isn't the best it's enough to run dual 7800's. It has 40 amps on the 12v rail which is decent.

My old one blew up in a power surge and needed to get one fast :laugh:

I'll keep this one untill it gives me problems or I upgrade the case as mentioned above.

oh ya also i see that only some sli motherboards come with the bridge connector that connects the 2 sli cards, but the motherboard i plan on getting for sli, does not have that connector, do you know of a place where i can buy the connector?

The connector should come with the board, not every mfg staggers the sockets the same...
