Yeah, ATI has a different way of working with the shaders, they're going to be unified, and I think 64 in all. ATI will probably do better this time around. Nvidia's G80 and ATI's R600 will be the first cards to support DirectX 10, and no doubt will be expensive, but considering all the different DX10 games coming out not too far from the video card releases, it would be a good buy if you can't wait.
