I shouldnt be surprised, given your Avatar is an Intel logo...

OEM means original equipment manufacturer. Generally it means bulk order parts supplied to a system builder without fancy packaging or extras. Example, I recently bought an NEC Dvd writer that was OEM, it came in brown cardboard box and was just the drive itself, no ide cables, no audio cables, no driver disks and no burning software. OEM parts keep costs lower for system builders who wouldn't be supplying the packaging and extras anyway. One thing to watch out for is when a CPU is advertised as OEM you will just receive the chip in a small piece of packaging with no heatsink and fan assembly as most overclockers will add their own higher quality assembly.

They'll be fine on 965, and some 975's as well as NVidia and ATI's newer chipsets for Conroe that haven't been released yet. I think Nvidia 570 will be a good budget option too.

so they will be good, if i dont plan on overclocking, on a 570 board?
also a dumb question, i havent seen much on the performance of the CPU, but what AMD would it compare to in performance, or does nobody know since they're not out yet?

You'll be better off with the Nvidia chipset since i965 may be in short supply and is currently lacking any IDE ports. WTF was intel thinking?
