As a rule of thumb "GT" cards are stock components that are factory overclocked.., "Pro" cards usually have better quality components.....,

Having said that it differs from one manufacturer to another :|

I have an X850 pro, and Ive found it has some glitches with bf2.
There are parts of some maps where everything goes black or start to blink.
It´s not a show stopper but very annoying.

son has x800xl - GREAT card - NO problems
the x850XT are REAL cheap now

Thats easy to fix...go to google and google "bf2 tweaks" at that site..u'll find a bf2 specially made driver..just for u..it runs the entire bf series extremely well, and shouldn't interfere with other play unless u play a crappy game..I play dawn of war, bf2, warcraft, and all of them play great. However, when I play starcraft...the graphics go crazy on me..not sure why, but its probably becuz the driver configured my graphics card to shift and focus on higher quality gameplay..meh.

I've never experienced that with mine. I think when the game was first released some people complained about black textures but that was fixed a year ago. Have you updated your drivers recently? Also maybe try turning down your dynamic light setting one notch, although it should run fine at high.

If you're already having problems with heat and overheating whatsoever, you should not attempt overclocking in anyway. You have no idea how easy it is to overheat your video card and physically fry your mobo as I did. I didn't think much of it, but even the slightest ambience temp change with weather rose my computer temps above the norm, so now I have the case open and put a big fan directly into it.

Hmm...I must consider this...I destroyed my old computer by kicking it 6 times everyday...HARD..all this to get a computer that would play bf2. Since my parents needed a litle more "push" to get the pc..I helped them. If i burn out my graphics card..my parents might get a better one...hmm..

For Nvidia it generally goes:
