Hi i am having problems with my current os which is xp home edition sp1 like i cant install sp2 on it and sometimes wont let me install new drivers so i would like to buy a new os and put it on there instead pls can you help
Yes you can install SP2, there is no need to buy a new OS. What OS you have doesn't really make a diffrence in gaming.

i installed it off windows update and after i installed it it asked me to restart windows for the changes to take effect so i did and when it was starting up it said windows could not start due to hardware or software change pls can you help

ok i have decided to remove my 80gb hd which my os is on an add another 250gb and put windows xp sp2 on it but i have seen a few versions of the home edition sp2

I would get the WinXP inc SP2 retail £160. You can get the oem, but you can only install it on one PC ever.
