I have a Razer Diamondback Plasma edition. Well I had I should say. It just died on me for no reason so I crushed it on the concrete. I'd say they are very nice mouses. Some of the buttons are almost impossible to use during gameplay but I only use two buttons anyway.
The Diamond back lays very low so your wrist will begin to hurt after a while. I noticed the Copperhead is improved in shape. It is a bit rounder up top and is taller. Aside from that and a few hundred useless dpi the diamondback and copperhead are the same mouse.
I'd love to try a G5 or G7 or any logitech mouse for that matter but, until they make one for left handers I'll have to stick to razer.
I didnt read all 4 pages, but I own a Copperhead and the 2000 dpi was too sensetive for me. So I set it back down to the 1600 dpi I used with my Diamondback. It works perfect for me.
I went from the Mx700 to the Copperhead, and boy what a difference! In all honesty, the best feature about the copperhead is how sensitive it can be! If you use the mouse at around a Sensitivity of 9 and 2000dpi, you'll be able to turn on a DIME. It take a few weeks to get used to it, but man is it silky smooth.
At first, yes, the drivers WERE a pos. Everyday I had the cold boot problem where I needed to unplug and replug in the mouse. However, a member over at razerblueprints edited the USB file and it works FLAWLESSLY now. Well worth the $ IMO.
I own the Razer Plazma its basiclly the same as the copperhead DONT use windows to tune for the love of god!!!!!! it comes with its own sensitivity software that lets you change the settings on a scale from 1-10 much better than going from 600 to 800 to 2000 dpi. also racisist logitech and microsoft refuse to sell any left handed mice so they can go **** themselves. the copperhead and razer series are incredible for gaming, such small incrememnts that you can adjust it really makes the difference for sniping or spinning the turret on a tank in ONE SWIPE OF THE MOUSE, remember use the software that came with the mouse not the windows junk and in your bios set it to USB MOUSE and youll be all set.

Keep it at 2000dpi and turn your Windows/game sensitivity down. You'll keep the precision but it won't fly across the screen.
I think the only difference is the DPI and the shape is a little tweaked. Ive got the diamondback and I love it, its by far the best mouse Ive had. Its very accurate and really fast if you need it to be.
And the fact that the Diamondback runs at standard 125 USB sample rate, where Copperhead can do 1000Hz.
Before Copperhead/G5 you had to tweak the usbport.sys file with a hex-editor or with a tool that patches the file. G5 also has increased sample rate but only up to 500Hz.

Just so everyone is clear, the Copperhead and the G5 use the exact same laser engine made by the same company. The only real differences are the software and the shape.
Oh and the fact that the Copperhead is way too light out of the box. If you open it up and put weights inside it feels much better, if you don't mind voiding the warranty on a ridiculously expensive mouse.
And before you flame, I have a Copperhead.
There also the minute difference in usb sample rate, wher G5 'only' runs at 500Hz = 2ms and Copperhead runs at 1000Hz = 1 ms sample rate.

The bottom line here is that it comes down to taste. It's impossible to say that either of the G5/Copperhead is the "better" mouse. Their software has essentially identical features and, as I mentioned before, they have the same guts inside. It all comes down to how you want your mouse to feel and whether you like your mouse to light up your entire room (the Copperhead is bloody bright).
If you can, go down to the store and rub your greasy mitts all over both mice so you can make an informed decision.
Exactly, ppl need to try the mouse out before choosing, and not look at specs alone. How you like to hold the mouse is paramount.
I never used the mx500 series before the Diamondback series. Back then I used the mx300, so the Razer mice fit my hand the best, as I don't like to rest my palm on the mouse but just controll it with my thumb and little finger.
What is your current resolution that y there is 2000dpi its because there is
2560 x 1600 witch is gonna be very hard to move around if you have a plane old mouse.
But if your resolution is the normal 1280x1024 I would set it to between 600 to 900 dunno about you but I dont like it too sensitive..
But you made the good choice that is the best selling mouse for now and NOT THE G7!
And may I add that it LOOKS 10x better and COOLER then the G7! You pay 100$ for a mouse from Logitech and you get a inch of corde for it not iven...

Yea, G5 is kinda up there with the Copperhead, and is the wired and much chepaer version of the G7. However, it only has a 500hz sample rate compared to the Copperhead's 1000hz sample rate. But yet again, it comes down to if it fits your hand. And if you don't have a uber big screen running at at least like 1600x1200, you won't really benefit from having an uber mouse that much, and you will probably not even go up to 1600DPI.
