If you ask me to respect your decision to wait until the processors come out, then stop calling me a fanboy because I look at the clear performance advantage of the currently avaliable processors.

Because that performance advantage doesn't mean sh*t until I can go to newegg and buy a proc, and have it shipped to me tomorrow. Until it gets mass shipped, those handpicked benchmarks are completely valueless.

Where did you see me say it was irrevelant? ALL I SAID IS I WOULD LIKE TO WAIT UNTIL THEY COME OUT TO MAKE A FINAL DESCISION. How many times do I have to tell you that to make you understand? I'm not saying the pre-production don't look great. That's why I am reccomending them to anyone who can wait. Just saying I'm waiting to see production models.

But you're not. Alas, all I've seen you do is talk about getting older AMD processors, etc. and waiting for the processors to come out to see how they perform. If you believe that the production samples look great, then you should have no objection to my "preaching them" to everyone.

Preaching and ramming them down everyone's throat and calling anyone who would buy an AMD a ****ing idiot are two diffrent things.

And I talk about older AMDs baceuse not everyone is looking to buy a new MOBO, RAM, and CPU. Most want an upgrade they can just "drop in". And when the price drops, that will be a great option for for the non-hardcore computer user (ie. 95% of the people on this board).

Actually, I'd say 95% of the people on this board are capable of buying a processor that would cost as much as a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cost a little while ago, which is what the price of the lowest Conroe will be.

Yea, someone who would buy anything higher than the X2 3800+ IS a freakin idiot, unless they're upgrading. Then, it's understandable. But if someone can buy something over a X2 3800+, then they can save up until they have the money for the Mobo + RAM too.

Buying a whole new MOBO, CPU, and RAM isn't going to be cost effective for the vast majority of users who are looking for an upgrade. However cheap X2 CPUS would be a very cost effective seeing as they already have the RAM and MOBO.

Yes the Conroes are better, but A64s are no slouch and can still handle anything you can throw at them, and for most it wouldn't be worth the increased upgrade cost (MOBO and DDR2).
