I'd planning on getting the conroe at 2.4 GHz if the benchmarks say it will out perform the Dual 930 @ 3GHz which they probably will...correct me if im wrong...?

Dude, an x2 3800+ at stock (2ghz) outperforms a pressler at 3ghz. So yes, it will.
