Although mine did work for a bit, it eventually started to artifact badly, even when I took the volt mods off and downclocked it. But the symptoms were pretty much what other people with 7900gt problems were reporting, so I am pretty sure the artifacting was caused by whatever problem the 7900gt has right now, not the volt mod. But then again, you need to be aware that there is risk involved with voltmodding.

I know, just like there is risk in overvolting the CPU and memory.

BTW, i'm prob not gonna voltmod my X800XL, but when i upgrade in mid august, if i get a7900GT there is a chance i will voltmod.

EDIT again: Well, it has soldering and a lot of other comlicated stuff, so i might just stay away from vmodding in that case.

BTW, i'm prob not gonna voltmod my X800XL, but when i upgrade in mid august, if i get a7900GT there is a chance i will voltmod.

Just be sure to get a better cooler for it, the stock one doesn't even cover the memory.

Well, i'm not gonna do it, but prob gonna get like an Arctic Silencer (fi they're still compatiable, if not, then accelro) or a VF900 anyways, ecause my computer is getting pretty hot now that it's summer (in the winter it was like 30C idle, 50C load, now idle is at 45C, and Load is at 75C).

My clan leader plays on all high with a 4000+ 1 gig hyper x and a 7900gt superclocked

No OC'ing at all, and there's no wire management since the case is too small. The card only gives me about 2" between it and the hdd, less if they're both hooked up.

<Double post edit> I can't start bf2 with dual screen mode lol. So I have to do the straight one there. :P

I dont' see any in-game shots with the FPS showing... All that those prove is you have a 6600 and can set the options to high...

I have 1,5gig ram, amd athlon 64 3800+ @ 2.4ghz, XFX GeForce 7800GS eXtreme, and i cant run all high...

lol, my 7600gs owns a 7800gs. budget cards FTW!!(i run all high, aa x4-supersampling-af x 8, 1280x1024)

lag for sure, theres no way bf2 can run all high with 1 gig of ram, the second i go one meg over 1 gig i get lag.

Nah, its possible, b/c i do -minus the 15 seconds of a jumpy lag hell in the begginging of the map

Yeah, Right at the beginning, I get like 5 seconds of crazy lag, then it gets perfect. All my screens soo far that I have posted. (Remeber that burn baby burn POTD) Was on these settings, except I had 4xaa for that.

I forget to mention something since I forgot. I have the 256 mb's on the card, and then I have a 256 MB (or 128, I don't remember which one.) AGP aperature setup in bios which, I'm sure has A HUGE influence on this.

I do though, i do with all high 6xaa and 16xaf at 1280x1024. Occasionally i get that like 30 second lag that i get when i just join a server, but that's all. Oh yea, and i don't play on 64 player servers, so i prob get less lag.

Eddy my PC is almost a carbon copy of yours except for 2 gigs ram. I play on medium with 2xAA because of ****ing 64 player Karkand ruins my fps. I have no idea how you do that it shouldnt be possible. I used to play on high back in the day before all the wonderful patches came out but no longer .

If you have AGP makme the aparature bigger, worked for me.

I used to run 45-50fps average back in the day, now i run around 35fps average, damn 1.12 patch. I don't know how it's possible either, and i havn't overclocked that far (BF2 is not overclocking friendly for me), and i have a bad overclocking CPU, so i couldn't overclock that past 2.25ghz. I have no idea how i still run all high on 32 player servers, but i do...
