I have a friend with this card too, and he can barely run all medium. He gets around 30 fps.

I'd be wary of fairies inside your pc. Get them out--you'll have better airflow, and you may be able to turn your res up. Eyecandy will suffer, however.

What sort of cooling do you use to get a 20% o/c? Is it stable?

He voltmodded, that should explain it all. And can you really voltmod with a 'pencil' as you say?

On some cards, yes. The graphite will lower the resistance on a resistor and allows more voltage to flow through. And it comes right off if the voltmod doesn't work out.

Holy crap, i gotta try that (sharpenening pencil), what is the normal way to voltmod anyways, i heard you have to use conductive ink, does that include ink from a pen (prob fountain pen)?

No, you have to use a special pen filled with the conductive ink.

Certain mods work differently. Some use conductive ink, some need the soldering of extra parts, and some use the graphite of a pencil.
Conductive ink is a special type of ink; it has some silver in it to make it conductive. It comes in a kind of paint-pen with the little ball inside to shake it up. I found mine at Radioshack, and it's called "CircuitWriter"
And the conductive ink will come off with a paper towel and some high percentage rubbing alcohol. The instructions I followed for my 7900gt said to make sure it was at least 90% isopropyl alcohol, but the 70% that I used seemed to work just fine. Just make sure everything is dry before you turn it on :)

Listen to knghtwhosaysni, he knows more about voltmodding than I do.

you can choose which mods you want to do

Although mine did work for a bit, it eventually started to artifact badly, even when I took the volt mods off and downclocked it. But the symptoms were pretty much what other people with 7900gt problems were reporting, so I am pretty sure the artifacting was caused by whatever problem the 7900gt has right now, not the volt mod. But then again, you need to be aware that there is risk involved with voltmodding.

lag for sure, theres no way bf2 can run all high with 1 gig of ram, the second i go one meg over 1 gig i get lag.
