Would Coolermaster High Performance Thermal Compound be good enough to use instead of artic silver 5???

It only costs 5 bucks for a tube of arctic 5, just buy some.

I agree but get the falt1y version. Mine dropped the temps alot i cant remeber wat they were as i took the benchmarks and forgot to take a note of them.

Why any gamer would get any PC hardware with Fatal1ty's name on it is beyond me.

Anyway, I use and highly recommend Thermalright products.

I was refering to a CPU HEATSINK anyways thanks Sir Matdef and Wreck your input on this topic was great use to me. I have recieved the Scythe Ninja and ive installed it into my pc after some stressful periods, it really is a mamouth HSF i have only got 1mm clearence between the top of the heatsink on my side window fan.

One question for you guys though when i booted for first time i got an error on boot saying that my cpu fan wasnt working or was running too slow. So i figured it was something to do with the fan running alot slower than the stock. Is this ok or would you recommend doing something else. As far as my temps go they are roughly 10-12*C lower at the moment once again thankyou so much as this is amazing, now time to OC a bit or would you let the AC5 get used to the temps first (let it run in for a bit)..

I'd check just to make sure that you didn't accidentally reverse the fan cable when you plugged it in, but as long as it's spinning you should be ok. As for letting it cure for awhile, you can if you want to, I let it sit for about an hour before I started oc'ing.

Cure? What does cure mean? My PC doesn't come out of it's overclocked state for anything.

Ok thanks well the fan is spinning and its showing its current rpm on AiBooster so i think its ok. Theres one problem i have come across since re-building my pc which is that my DVD Drive is always (how can i put this) spinning, making the whaling noise constantly. I cant understand what this is any ideas

Ok thanks well the fan is spinning and its showing its current rpm on AiBooster so i think its ok. Make sure the IDE cable is plugged in correctly, which means not upside down or off center.

Thanks, and that's why I said Thermalright products. They make many heatsinks for the CPU. They just started making video card heatsinks and as you can see, they are quite effective.
