I have 91.31 installed right now and it does not have overclocking features unless you install the coolbits registry entries. Even then, the overclocking section will only appear when you use the old control panel, it won't show up in the new.

Now, if you have a 91.XX series driver for your GPU and nTune for your motherboard, THEN it may have overclocking abilities built in, but I wouldn't know as I don't have an nvidia chipset.

You realize that each core is running the EQUIVILANT to 3.8Ghz, don't you?

AMD uses a different (and far superior IMO) clock/calculations process in their chips. That is why they have historicaly run cooler and draw less power, thus making them better candidates for overclocking. AMD uses a different (and far superior IMO) clock/calculations process in their chips. That is why they have historicaly run cooler and draw less power, thus making them better candidates for overclocking. lol, no it doesn't work that way. Each core is running the equivelent to a 3.2Ghz. 3.8 is the combined PR rating. If you look the single core 3800 runs at 2.4Ghz.

No it isn't. For single threaded applications, ie. almost everything. It comes down to raw processing speed, not having dual cores. In the future that will surely change, but for now, in single threaded apps, it only perfoms a fraction better than a single core CPU at the same speed.

I was saying that it operates no faster than a single core CPU of the same clockspeed in single threaded apps. (ie 3200+). Where did you see me was not going to be noticable to overclock it?

In terms of performance in BF2, you will not see any difference with overclocking a dual processor...that is why I advised not to bother as it (the single core in this case) runs plenty fast enough. He is for the first time overclocking. He does not need the hassle of overclocking when it will not benefit him. Please sit down and be quiet. Let the adults argue, ok?:laugh:

Yet you still advise him to overclock his video card? Overclocking his card or processor will net him about the same increase in performance so it's either worthwhile to do both or worthless to do both. If overclocking isn't your thing then by all means don't do it. Some of us like the challenge and learning experience, not just getting an FX62 for < $400.

You come in here misinterpretting what Jimmy was trying to say, then get all high and mighty. Your arguments aren't helpful or welcomed here.
