LOL...how did you just lose $600? Like in a bet, or did you actually lose it? I thought I lost $1100 once...found it after the fifth time I searched my truck...It had slid between the seat and console!

No I was going to edit the post to add the link, but I'll just reply.

Between three RMA's I've had to make this week, my wife running up our credit cards, and me loosing $600, I'm having a bad week all around. You know one of those weeks when all you can really do is laugh. Not a normal laugh, but that crazy "why me" hysterical laugh/cry.

I could has sworn I took those cards from her...

You now jump in saying to O/C because of the dual core, which is odd, because that is my point that a dual core is not going to help in BF2, my argument is that the 2.0Ghz is fast enough. Yet you keep going...

And you misquoted me.

I said overclock because it will only use 1 core, and since that one core is only at 2.0 Ghz, it could stand to see a boost in performance from overclocking.

Which will run BF2 better?

AMD 64 3200+ or AMD 64 3500+?

Each single core runs at the same speed as a 3200+. Buying or oc'ing to an 3500+ will make you see some performance gain.

This is the same thing with the dual core.

hi guys! is it bad to have 2 stick of ram with different timing on dual channel my samsung timing is 2.5-3-3-7 and the kingston 3.0-3-3-8 my cpuz is amd64 3000+ ocd to 2.4

hmm, I'm not sure but I'm guessing it would be a good idea to have them running at the same speed with the same timing. Hopefully wreck or somebody will help you out more.

All the ram will run at the speed of the slowest module. It's best to use all the same type/speed of ram.

It won't be a problem as long as you don't notice any stability issues. All the problems BF2 has will be amplified by the smallest things such as mis-matched ram.

That being said what you need to do is run memtest and some other stability programs to make sure it's fine. I recommend against doing this if you can help it, but I've known some unmatched ram to perform fine for a long time.

Okay as I am a new PC user other than gaming when I was younger but all my pc's sucked and where out of date when I bought them and later I played at net cafe's. (run on sentance take a breath) IT fix my pc at work and so I've no clue in any terms/slang or even really where to start to maximize performance.

Okay as for cooling system, I've got two massive (eye balled at 5 inch) fans alone not counting the ones around the processor and vid card. Purposefully bought a gaming case and upgraded all the parts on what was supposed to be a prebuild gaming computer so I do feel confident in that at least.

After the little war it appears that my pc is good and that it can be smoking. At the moment like I stated everything is on medium and anti-thingo is at x2. Looks good and fairly smooth but I get a slight stutter when it get's busy so I want to get rid of that.

so...........

How do I check my FPS?
Drivers, no clue if I need to upgrade how do i find out and where is the best place to get them?
Temps how do I monitor them. I spent all this money two weeks ago and I don't want to FRY anything.

Looks like I will overclock both, as I was a counter strike/DoD junkie before I left Canada and I've been wasting money in a stupid way at a net cafe here in Amsterdam so I'm pretty good now and am greedy for performance. Nothing ****es me off more than getting beaten by the other mans pc or internet connection so I forked out for both. (can't belive the gf let me)

Anyway, where do I start? Honestly it sounds like you guys know what you're talking about but if you could maybe set some of the scrap aside and direct me on where to begin with what I've decided to do which is do em both and get another gig ram on payday.

Maybe I'll take a pic of the cooling system too but like a dickhead I don't even know how to post that. God I wish I had IT in my house. At least with your help I will be able to do this myself!
