there maybe some dust stuck on the fan, which means it will run slower & can cause heat build up.

Get a can of compressed air, that usually does the trick.

Yea, one of my friends got so clogged with dust he couldn't even run his computer anymore. He opened the case and the fan on his processor was so clogged is was hardly even spinning anymore. He cleaned it up and his computer ran like brand new! Dust can be a very big enemy when it comes to heat.

After cleaning the fan i was certainly suprised how much crap was in there, A LOT of gunk on the heatsink alone.

Anybody with overheating problems use a can of compressed air and especially make sure your heatsinks are not clogged as well, mine were totally caked.

GPU temps are now 47 idle instead of 60, and 66 at full load instead of 92!

Thanks Tonic for the compressed air tip.

A big thank you to all those who also helped in this thread :salute:

60-70 degrees is fine btw. With my fan settings on full load it runs at around 70C

My x1600 was idling at 70 and maxing at 98 then i realized my tv card was in the slot right below the gcard. I moved it down to the bottom and now my gcard can breath better, it idles at 51 and maxes out at roughtly 72.
