    Graphics Card Temp

My Sapphire X800XL AGP is currently running at 90-92C when in 3D mode and the memory chips are so hot you could cook a stir fry on them. I mean you could literally burn your fingers touching them for more than 4 secs.

Even when idle the temp is around 55-60c

its not overclocked or anything but the temps are a bit worrying so i took the side off my case. Did it make any difference?.....no

Theres nothing wrong with the fan and the all the cables are tied back.

But boy!... these Radeons sure get HOT!

First remove that crappy thermalpaste that they have applied in factory. Buy some ArticSilver 5 . If you have money buy Zalman VF00CU very good aircooler.

You could also customize your fan settings. Your fan may not be programmed properly.

On default settings, my X850XT run around 91-92C... With ATI tray tools it doens't get over 75C ever.

Speedfan might work, never tried it with a laptop.

Hey catpawn, if I were you I'd go ahead and dl and install a program called Ati Tray Tools, and show us what your default fan settings are. Just google for it, its pretty popular.

EDIT: found a link for ya anyway.... http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733

BTW, heres my fan settings. When playing it runs at around 72-74C

alright, maybe your whole cooler is just not that great or something. You should consider getting a better cooler for it. Also, check to make sure your cooler isn't clogged with dust or something.

wow my 7800GTx doesnt even touch those temps even on a hot summers day.

Remove the heatsink and put new thermal paiste along with checking the fan still spins freely!

What tools can us nVidia guys use for customizing fan speeds? MY 6800Gt gets up to 81~C during gaming. I just bought a Zalman GPU fan but haven't put it on yet.

EDIT- NVM...I guess I found it:
