    A AthlonXP is a hot thing in comparison to those new 64's, but it's old...it runs 50C standard with the boxed cooler...it's made for that. I think a 64 runs 30C out of the box.

    Read some advanced OC sites, they will approve what I say. Ofcourse the next level CPU's run on lower temp, but unfortunately those things are 3 years old and therefore don't.
    my 2600 barton with stock cooling clocked ran at 41c idle and 52c load..

    50c with a stock cooler is way high..
