well, for now Im def. keeping my 939. Probably soon I will upgrade to AM2 and DDR2. Most likely going dual core. But I will definitly wait until new mobo's come out. the K9n Platinum looks good, but eh, Ill still wait. Ill either go dual core, or the 3800+.
so yeah, either 3800+ or 3800+ X2. and either the good looking k9n mobo, or something else once more come out. plus I need to buy all the DDR2 again. ugh.

meh...I'm certainly not going to buy a new mobo, cpu, and ram just because something new came out.

I'll wait a year or two like I did with PCIe.

I'm waiting to upgrade in 2008. I will pick up a second hand dual core sometimes later this year, and sit tight.

Im due a new PC in the next few months and I will certainly be waiting for Conroe. Even if the price/performance tends out to be dreadful(highly unlikely) it would almost certainly be foolhardy to buy into AM2 now with Conroe only a couple months away.

ehhg... its gonna be scary going to intel/conroe... im more of a AMD guy cuz it seems a lot better for gaming and other things...but is it really worth going to conroe? like will intel pretty much jump ahead of AMD till AMD comes out with a new processor? im thinking bout building a computer but dont have enough...i guess ill just wait for conroe...

2007 Q1 will be the time to upgrade with some new technology. AMD's just sidestepping with AM2 and Intel's catching up past AMD on desktops while AMD still controls the servers.

Conroe will be significantly better than AMD, the only questions will be how much avaliability will there be? and what the final pricing will be?

AMD will release updated AM2 chips in the first half of 2007, those should be faster than this "refresh" that we saw today.
