AM2 Launches Tomorrow, where will you be?

All the rumours and everything else point to tomorrow as the official launch of amd's new am2 procs/mobos. Anybody thinking of getting one? Normally I might but I'm perfectly happy with my 939 and I'll probably wait for conroe anyway. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Some info on the new controller:

Also, monarch has started selling a little early, no word on mobos yet.

    EDIT 2:Here are some mobos:

Eh, I'm not jumping on it quite yet. I don't plan on going Conroe though.

Hmmm, AM2 Semprons? Didn't know those were coming.

Yeah, I might actually buy one of those, for 100 bucks you can't go wrong.

I'll be checking the reviews while I wait for the BF2 1.3 patch. I'm with Jimmy on this one as not being very excited.

It is slightly more impressive than Intel's move to socket 775 which actually took a step back in performance at the time. This was due to prescott's long pipes making it slower than Northwood, and DDR2 was extremely slow with high latency.

AMD did the the right thing waiting for DDR2 to mature. What I'm waiting for from AMD is the K8L baby.

These numbers are slightly impressive. They compare a stock FX57 to a stock AM2 X2 4000+ and an FX62. The AM2's are also compared overclocked. The AM2 FX62 at stock solidly beats the FX57 both at 2.8GHz in single threaded games by 10-20 fps.

AMD is doing the right thing with their move to DDR2 and AM2. If you are the kind of person that buys a full built system, really at this time, don’t be worried if you have DDR or DDR2. You will likely never know the difference and adding more DDR memory will not be an issue for a while to come. If you are building a system now, I would suggest you go ahead and make the move to DDR2, unless of course you possibly just invested in a 2GB of quality DDR. If you are the guy that is building a base system but is constantly upgrading, you will hate yourself later if you don’t move to DDR2 now as we are likely to see some great overclocking out of it this year.

I would keep in mind that AMD has not let all their cats out of the bag just quite yet. I would expect to see at least one more hardcore enthusiast trick up their sleeve before year’s end. Then again, you have Intel’s Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors on their way as well and things are looking very good for Intel from a performance and power perspective.

It's about 1-5% better than socket 939 with DDR800 or better. The big kicker for me is that 4000+ X2 for $321. There is no reason to get socket 939 since AM2 is the same price. Also DDR prices are going up and DDR2 is dropping.

                            A whopping 5%...im sold.

No, but really, all the ram now a days (like the one i bought) is DDR 400 DDR2. Does that mean I can use it with AM2 and 939? And whats the difference?

You can only use DDR2 with AM2 or Intel. Socket 939 is DDR only.
