most of the above is true, well until i got myself a Gel wrist pad which also has its own mat, so i have had no problems after using this mat with wireless mouse, just invest in a good, and large mouse pad.

            moved to tech center

I use a MX1000 laser mouse from Logitech.

            I LOVE it.

            -10 programmable buttons
            -heavy
-fits my hand perfectly and comfortably
            -lithium ion rechargeable with cradle
-LED indicators on mouse to show battery charge level

              Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse

I love it! it's smooth, and responsive enough for my gaming style.

Only downside to going wireless which I've encountered, is that my mouse goes through batteries rather quickly.

Wireless mouse usually works fine. Depends on what mouse it is. Buy one from a well-known producer (logitec or microsoft). I got a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 on my icemat, and it works brilliant.

Try get a wired keyboard if you can. I have worse experiences with those, especially if the mouse and keyboard use the same reciever. And a keyboard doesnt have to move, so cables should be no problem.

Buy wireless mouse, buy wired keyboard.

I HATED my MS Wireless Optical.

                  2 reasons:

                  -hideous lag
                  -need to change batteries

I was so happy when I upgraded to the MX1000

                  -no lag
                  -no need to change batteries

I LOVE my MS Wireless Optical.

                    2 reasons:

                    -no lag whatsoever
-batteries last at least 4 months

I'm so happy that i haven't upgraded to the MX1000

-too heavy and flat for my hand
-hate having YET another charger on my desk

I agree with Talus, all the microsoft mice I've used weren't that good, but I love my mx1000. In fact, I have two now. The battery lasts at least 10 days with heavy gaming, and it fits perfectly in the hand. As for keyboards, go wired, wireless ones suck hard.

                          I didn't think I had lag UNTIL I tried the MX1000
