            Back on track a bit. A properly overclocked 7600gt will perform about the same as a 7800gt in most tests. While the 7900gt is an excellent card, the 7600gt gets my vote for best bang for the buck.

              im probably not gonna be overclocking cuz im a partial noob...can someone describe in brief how to overclock? like do i actually mess with the card? or like run a program? or how do i do it?

                Overclocking a videocard is the easiest type of overclocking.

                You get Rivaturner, and you move a slider from left to right. Thats about it. Then here's the testing to see what the highest stable overclock is and all that good stuff, but the actual overclocking is moving a slider from left to right.
