Try a lower resolution, like 1024 x 768. To run at high res in BF2 you need alot of video card muscle.

I thought a Quadro FX 3400 was high end with it being over $800 :) My computer is a Dell Precision 670... that help maybe?

Becuase I purchased a Dell Precision 670 for my business and that's the card that came in it. Was hoping I could play some BF2 with ease being as I have a monster of a machine.

yeah sorry, forgot, I have coolbits unlocked, do a google for coolbits 2 and install that(it's a registry tweak that lets you overclock your card) this will tell you what your core and mem are sitting at.

Is there a reason you use that card though? Is a quadro required for work? You'd be much better off getting a 7900 GTX 512 or something unless your work requires a quadro.

they are good specs, but like I said before the quadro cards are more for cad applications where HUGE resolutions are needed with little power(they don't really do much 3d rendering (I think lol)

That was going to be my next question.... being as you have seen my specs now on the rest of my computer.... why not buy dual high-end GAMING Cards for my Precision 670. Would that work? The only reason I have a Quatro card in my PC now is becuase I have dual 20" monitors that I like to run one desktop on, and the quatro card is what came with the Precision 670, being as it supports that feature.

If i went with dual high-end Gaming cards, I need them to be able to support dual monitors as well. Is this an option?

Just installed it. My core clock frequency is 350MHz and my Memory clock frequency is 900MHz

Yup.. that can easily be done with one or two higher end cards. If you want top top of the rage get two 7900GTX 512MB, they would run it very easily and bf2 on all high with 8xAA 16xAF and all these other very cool settings that would look amasing, or you could go lower.. two 7600Gt's would be fine to do that.. even one 7600GT may be good enough.. but when you are gaming it would be restricted.

If you went with one/two 7900's (or whatever)you will be able to do what you want, the only hitch will be if you run SLI (motherboard dependant) you will only get one monitor(I think, when I enable SLI a pop up says that one of my monitors may go blank)

You can run two monitors when running with one or two card.. and SLi is not a downfall.. well it can be when its not running right, but its a great feature.. and that shouldnt be happening... I dont think...

Twsmit, Wreck or Jimmy will know more.. lol..

Well damn. I need both of my monitors for my work :-) Anyone out there able to verify if you can run dual monitors with dual 7900's ran in SLI? If not, can I run dual monitors with just one 7900? and what does 8xAA 16xAF mean?

                            8x Anti-Analising 16x Anti(something) Filtering... spelling

Anyway.. they make the picture smoother... looking better, less pixelated.. and im quite sure that you can on one and on two.. but it would be good to get another oppinion.

You will be able to switch SLi off from the display properties when you are not gaming though. If you are not a big gamer one card will do.

8Xaa 16XAF, are quality improvements(resource hogs) These sharpen edges, basically to help round edges look round and straight edges look straight(they would normally look jagged)

Yeah.... I am looking into these cards now - and they have two DVI Outputs, so I am pretty sure I can do my dual monitor setup with one of them.... but I really need to know if I can run my dual monitors on two of these cards in SLI. Do having two of these cards in my system really make THAT big of a difference?
