    Video Card Descisions

So im buying the parts to build a computer tonight, and i still have to decide over a video card. For the time being i have to use a filler until i build up enough money to get a 7900gt, so right now im spending $100. I have it narrowed down to 2 Nvidia cards(ATI is a no-no for me). They both have thier pros and cons, but im leaning towards the 7600.

    eVga 7600gs--- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130011

    XFX 6800xtreme--- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150130

Other comp specs--- ASUS A8n sli deluxe mobo, AMD 64 3500+ clawhammer CPU 2.2~, 1gig(512x2) Crucial Ballistix pc3200 ram, Audigy 2 SC, Aspire X-Navigator case ( a bajillion fans ) w/500W PSU, and all Logitech input devices

Any specific reason your going with the Clawhammer 3500, as opposed to the Venice, or an Opty?

Ni, more voltage is a bad thing, and the name has nothing to do with it.

Venice would be a better choice.

may want to save up your money then and hold out till you can get the GT.... but if you cant' wait then i guess the gs would do ok.

Im only going to have this video card for about 2 months, so i dont want to spend more than is necessary. Sure, i understand the 7600gt pwns and all, but then that would just make me take longer to get the 7900gt.
So for now i guess ill go with the eVga 7600gs and oc it to better speeds

Cant you just wait out the two months with a not so good card and put some of the money you saved towards more RAm, new HDD, CPU.. etc etc??? Like just get a 9800 or something.. 6600... etc.. its only 2 months.. and the money that you would save could easily go elsewhere.

Within your budget you can easily get what you need without all this hassel. First of all do the following.

Drop down to a 3200+ Venice CPU = $50 savings
Drop down to Value ram = $15+ savings
Drop down to the regular Asus Nf4 SLI (i highly doubt you need dual lan ports) = $30 savings

Drop the Audigy = Saving whatever it costs, i dont know off hand looks like the Audigy 2 SC is a typo?

Take those savings and buy a better video card. I would also dump the Aspire case, I dont like them and that bundled PSU is asking for trouble, it will probably fail within 6 months, just run run far away from it.

                              Anyways those are my suggestions.
