It could be a hard drive problem, as i remember load times being cripled when my hard drive was failing!

I have re-installed the the game several times,
OS was changed from XP 32-Bit to 64-Bit (current OS), upgraded,
deleted, replaced drivers - you name it, I did it all.



It's not the 1.22 Patch, I have this from the beggining.
You're talking about 1.21 patch, which was fixed in 1.22.

@RAF92_Warhawk: It might be the Corsair chips, maybe it IS a value ver.,
they came in a reasonable price, which might be suspicious...

For the record - I live in Israel, so my "default" ping is around 100ms avarge.
Is it possible that the "Client Verification" phase taking so long because of this?

No cause it honestly didn't start this bad till 1.22

I guess in 1.21 i did notice stuff that shouldn't be happening but didnt get this bad till 1.22.

I bought a hard drive with 16mb cache and my load times went down like CRAZAY!11 First one in! Western Digital 250GB 16mb Cache is only 100 bux on new egg.

ive only got a gig of ram and my loads take around 1 minute, your load time is also effected by what settings you run the game on.

Well it's an enigma I guess...
This game been wasting my time mostly on config adjustments,
and on load time.

Last time I buy an EA product. they dissapoint me so much, it hurts... :cry:

This is a longshot but I'll try anyway...:

You never mentioned your hard drive type. I use a SATA, that after a certain amount of system crashes(BF2 and Oblivion), my HD's speed changes itself from SATA mode to the ancient PIO mode. By comparison this is 150 vs 16.

I discovered this by accident one day long ago during BF2's early crash-happy days. I googled "PIO mode" to discover crashing causes disk errors(6 forces PIO mode).

Run CheckDisk to repair errors and it's SATA mode again and fast loading maps because my HD is a SATA once more!

How to determine what mode you're in?

right click "My Computer"
click "Manage"
click "Device Manager"
find IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller
click the tab corresponding to your Hard Drive, not optical drives...
click the Channel your HD is on and there it is, Current Transfer Mode.

If not correct, make it so and reboot. If the new/correct setting does not stay, that is when you have to run CheckDisk. Otherwise just changing it should work after the reboot.

I have had my HD revert to PIO mode 3 times in 1 year due to crashing from BF2, and Elder Scrolls 4 only. Otherwise my system has been flawless. I supoose my HD could be less than perfect.

Another way I have found to "detect" that my system went back to PIO mode besides BF maps taking longer than before...is the Windows loading screen with the little blue bars underneath the logo.
Normally I do 3-5 bars before my desktop pulls up, but when in PIO mode it took 12-16 bars. If I see this, I check...thankfully only those 3 times so far.
