If i was you, and you want to go AMD, i would got AM2 socket with a 5000 X2, dont waste your time with the FX series, you dont have to spend that much money on a cpu, even if you have it. Same some for better ram, and a nice flat screen lcd.

I would say go for the x2 4200+, more future proof than the songle core CPU's.

Around here, the best bang for the buck is a 3800+ x2, it's about 10 dollars more than a 3800+ AMD single core. I was gonna get a 3800, but found a little extra cash and forked out for a 4200.
