It's late on Saturday night, or early on Sunday morning depending on your perspective. I have played nothing but Bloodborne every night now since its release. I'm talking about playing it for multiple hours every day. I have to assume by now that I've surpassed the 15 hour mark It's good. It's really good. I was contemplating doing a review for the game, and I might still do that, but undoubtedly most of you already know the high praise it's received from nearly every major review outlet.

It draws some obvious comparisons to the * Souls games, as it rightfully should. It is, afterall, made by the same team that worked on those games and is created by the creator of the Souls games. The thing is, Bloodborne is a much faster paced game. I remember when I was going through Dark Souls 2, every encounter felt deliberate. The encounters were largely slow paced, though they may not have felt like it at the time. Now? Now, if you try to take things slow, you're going to suffer. If you get hit, you need to be the aggressor and hit back immediately to regain some of your lost health. Failure to do so means you either need to pop a (somewhat) precious consumable to heal yourself.

However, I'm going to stop myself there. I won't get into my thoughts about the game too much right now. It's late and I'm tired and I would merely repeat what has been said numerous times already. It's an amazing game. Really, the only things I kind of hate about it are the load times (supposedly being worked on), the chromatic aberration (holy hell, just... ugh), and the occasional framerate pacing or framerate hitching issues (also supposedly being worked on) in some areas.

I say this without having beaten the game yet: It's easily a 5/5 on the review scale here, even with those technical issues.

This should also help to explain why I haven't recorded the final two(?) episodes for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 yet.
