Our newest preview here on Total Gaming Network has staff writer Bawdyjane checking out the highly anticipated 256 player PS3 exclusive shooter MAG. Here's the intro to the article:
MAG is Sony’s upcoming first person shooter and is the first game to offer a massive online experience by supporting up to 256 players at one time. In MAG players can play one of three private military factions including Raven, S.V.E.R., or Valor. The Raven faction boasts sleek ultra-modern weaponry, S.V.E.R. looks like a rag tag guerilla band of fighters and Valor was reminiscent of a typical military band. Read more...

I don't think that this game is gonna go anywhere. Its just 256 multiplayer, thats about it.

Not to be a negative nelly, but won't this just be a cluster**** online? The idea seems somewhat cool, but if there isn't enough structure or a strong enough goal to work towards, imagine how many smacktards could be in one server.

After seeing the demo at E3, I'm super excited. My wallet might be hurting (MAG, Uncharted 2, and MW2 just to name a few).

Did it actually work... I mean without lag and all?

                  Re: MAG Preview

I can't see them taking a game that would be a cluster *cough* this far in development, but I am interested/worreid about how it played lag wise as well as what FPS it 'fealt' like you were getting.

Though I think I remember hearing that they weren't going to go below 30 FPS, but who knows eh?

Hmm...im not exactly sure how i feel about this game. They seem to make a big deal about that objective setting and such, but i believe this will just turn into another "BattleField 2142" Scenario where almost no one will specifically follow the orders. IDK, just kinda seems to implement things that are already out there. as for the huge player number, thats good. i like the idea of GIGANTIC battles, so right on for that.
