  • New Series: Music in Gaming - Pint Shot Riot

Total Gaming Network is happy to introduce a new series today that will run on our website titled Music in Gaming. We have paired up with Artwerk, a dedicated music label for Electronic Arts, to bring our community closer to the bands that you can hear in EA titles.

Each month we will feature a new band on our site that has their music in all the latest EA games. Throughout the month the band is featured, we will stream exclusive tracks, offer free downloads when available, and conduct interviews with the bands. All of this is in an effort to connect the gamers to the bands and vice versa. So without further ado, we'd like to present our first featured band:

    Pint Shot Riot
Influenced by the spiky rhythms and even spikier lyrics of The Clash, the working class rock ‘n’ roll attitude of Oasis and the melodies and harmonies of The Kinks. Pint Shot Riot’s songs talk not of despair but of hope, not of everyday mundane life but of dreams, not of isolation but of strength in union. It’s an ambition. A promise.

In November 2008 E.A. Games asked for a track for the new SIMS 3 game due for release in early 2009. It was decided to give them the first single ‘Punches Kicks Trenches And Swords’ as this hadn’t really had any international exposure.

Like what you hear? You can learn more about the band by visit either their official website or MySpace page. Be sure to check out the main page for future updates on this band located within our right menu under the box Music in Gaming.

Along with providing new tracks throughout the month for this band, we'd also like to involve the community a bit. If you have any questions for the band Pint Shot Riot, post them in this thread. We will be collecting questions to use in an interview later this month. The questions can range from general info about the band or more specific questions regarding their involvement with games. Ask away!

In my reviews of various EA games I always comment on how great the soundtracks are, great to see the community getting more involved now with an underestimated part of games.

This band is great, saw them live a while back in the U.K. Hope to hear them in more games!

I'm extremely pleased to see something like this; music is a critical part of gaming for me, and I've definitely been one to go out and purchase tracks that I genuinely enjoyed (I would have bought the BF1942 theme if I had been able to find it somewhere, heh).

The Burnout Paradise soundtrack was amazing.

I thought FIFA 09's soundtrack was fantastic there was really no songs I hated. Skate 2 also had a nice funk variety.

I've got game sound tracks to thank for introducing me to a fair bit of music, Faith No More, Papa Roach, Skindred and I'm sure probably many more that I can't think of right now.

Cool feature, look forward to more of them.

EA has always had good music in their titles. Course, being the #1 video game producer helps out a bit, I would imagine....

MVP baseball 05 immediately pops into my head. Tessie...I think by the Flogging Mollies.
