This game is running on the same engine used in BF2. They are also sticking with the Stats System. Of course it is going to seem like a simple expansion pack to the naked eye. It has all of the key elements that made BF2 a winner. Things like that won't change, hence, it will appear like nothing special. I personally love the new route they are taking and cannot wait for more news and a possible demo in the future.

civilian vehicles around city maps, and the buildings had all kind of antennas on the roofs that could help snipers to hide (everyone suddenly bought satelite dishes) and the maps from the screenshots dont exist in BF2 including one skin of the Cobra and the MEC skins.

That would be called test items. Just because it is in a screenshot of the game does not mean it will be with the game. Do not assume it will, or you are the one who is a fool. I have learned from experience.

BF2 has been out since june last year.. that isnt even a year and they've started making the next game.. grr..

This mod look awsome. Since this is being made by Dice or something is it going to cost mony? How much?

Its a regular full release title. That means you will pay retail $49.99

It looks pretty sweet!!

It is still in Alpha phases and they are using the BF2 Engine... it'll have graphical and physics enhancements according to the PCGamer article.

Still way to early to say it looks horrible or it will suck, buncha' pessimists here

Nope, thats just DICE playing the same old screenshot editing tricks they've always played. Like this early BF2 screenshot, where the shadows are smooth, not those half-assed shadows that are currently in BF2. Basically I see these screenshots as showing off the concept of BF:2142, which is futuristic. As with BF2, the game with probably look very different from these current screens, especially with 6 months until release.

hmmm looks like BF2 with new skins to me... i'm not impressed by it.
Speaking only about screenshots i have to say OW:ET's ones look much better.
Keep in mind that those screenshots are probably taken @ 1600*1200 4xAA 16AF, maybe a little photoshop etc.
So i wait for a demo or some in-game footage... EA/DICE needs to work hard in order to make me buy the game...

I so want to play this game, I think it's the Mechs that are drawing me. I just hope this don't turn into another Blackhawk saga! Start off really good and are hacked to death until they're practically useless.

The problem is, compare those screenshots to Crysis, and you got this BF game looking about 2 years old already. I'm sure it will be fun to play, but Crysis is going to be amazing, forget Quake, forget this, go for Crysis!

Yeeehaw, can't wait to destroy an entire jungle

The screenshots do look like fun, thats ultimatly what we want when we play BF, fun!

The only problem you got to worry is getting stamped on by your team mates, think what they would say:

Back in the days of free content, this would be compared with the free WW2 mod' for Battlefield Vietnam. I hope our loyalty is rewarded one day soon, with at least one free map, a new Special Forces map would be very welcome. Would be a nice gesture from EA/DICE.

My theory on the events of the last few days:

• Release a mini-patch for BF2. The effect of doing so shows we do still care, and calms the community. Less hostility against BF2142.
• Release (leak) some new BF2142 screens to a much more agreeable audience, who have their faith slightly restored in DICE.

I must say, before I released it, it worked on me.

I will download the demo of this game, it's not a definite pre-order purchase like BFV, and BF2, yet.

I don't see why people should get this game. All it is is bf2 set in the future with same engine.. its probably has nothink new besides weapons,models,maps and lemmie guess.. same ea rank server? aka ****ed.

doesn;t look that bad, but it has nothing i'm lookin for, i'm gonna get ET:QW as soon as its out (one thing it has and bf2142 dont, BUMPMAPS)bf2142 reallys out of the question for me....

It really doesn't look that bad. . . . . how can ANYONE say QW:ET is gonna blow it away when neither have been released. . .QW fanboys go to TotalQW. . . . .

And its about as much of a mod as BFV was to 1942.

check out QW:ET your self, how can we not say that a game like tt will rock bf2142?

Yeah, and you will need one hell of a system to run Crysis like they are in the trailer. They must be running more than 1 vid card. I mean, cmon lol.
